What Do I Need to Get Started?
You’re thinking of building a home – exciting! If you’re like most people, you’re probably wondering: what do I need to get started?
There are a few helpful things to nail down (pun intended) to get things going in the building process.
First, location.
Location is the most important first piece of the puzzle. If you’re new to the Annapolis Valley area, or building from away, you may want to start with a phone call with our team to get a lay of the land and discuss what options are available based on your current situation and needs.
If you’re buying land before getting in touch with our team, be sure to check with the local municipality that the site is suitable for what you are looking to build!
We also have some developments and Bentley Built Communities we work in regularly, as well as some land options we can recommend if you need some guidance.
Second, budget.
You should start thinking of your budget and what you are comfortable investing. However, we can help get financing in place if you haven’t got that far or need guidance. Sometimes, our contacts may offer some more desirable financing solutions as a second opinion.
What’s next?
Apart from having an idea of the home you want to build, that’s really all you need to get things going off the bat! You don’t need to worry about things like permits – we can help with that, and it comes a bit later in the process.
It is never too early to start the process. Once we have a rough budget, concept, and schedule, the rest can move along fairly quickly!
Check out the Our Process page on our website for more details on how things work from here, or send us an email if you have any more questions!
